Help For People (Help 4 People)
You may place your non-perishable items in the box in the Narthex at any time. OSLC (Our Savior Lutheran Church) delivers the items after the last Sunday of each month. This food bank serves the people of the ridge. The need for items continues year round. Thank you to Roger Klaves for faithfully delivering these items each month.

Lutheran Braille Workers Large Print Workshop
We are producing Large Print Copies of the Biblical book of Joshua and in smaller quantities the books of Ezra & Nehemiah. Special thanks to Roger Klaves and Bonnie Covert for doing the ground work and pursuing this option and making the continuation of this ministry possible. Our group is being flexible and adaptable and producing whatever volumes are needed for shipment. We are currently adding Ruth and Judges to go along with our Joshua productions.  Roger Klaves and Bonnie Covert are currently sharing the leadership of the workshop while Bob Stienecke spends a lot of time boxing up the books of the Bible for shipment. Others who are working with our workshop are: Larry Bonesio; Dave Hilst; Cim Kelly; Ray Johnson; Rae Marie Johnson; Elaine Sights; Penny Steinecke; Del Wade; and Anita Washburn. Thank you to our volunteers.

Community Service

Our Savior is the primary crew for Section A of the Parade of Flags. This section begins at Bille Road and Skyway and continues to Kalico Kitchen. This was Bill Wells' section. Bill Wells and his wife Edna started the Paradise Parade of Flags. The crew needs recruits to maintain this section so that Our Savior can be the primary crew for Section A. Please join Rae and Ray Johnson, Chuck Fleishmann, and Jerry Kahovec - they need six more volunteers. Call Ray at 873-4526 or Chuck at 873-0664. You can become a regular or help occasionally. The flags are displayed three times a year: Memorial Day (Monday, 26 May 2014); Fourth of July (Friday, 4 July 2014); Veterans Day (Tuesday, 11 November 2014).

Lutheran Large Print Workers
We rejoice that we have arisen from the ashes of having to close down our Lutheran Braille Workshop (LBW) and the printing of the combined four gospels, and now have begun a new phase of this ministry by producing Large Print Copies of the Biblical book of Joshua and in smaller quantities the books of Ezra & Nehemiah. Special thanks to Roger Klaves and Bonnie Covert for doing the ground work and pursuing this option and making the continuation of this ministry possible. Thanks also to the dedicated volunteers who havenow so quickly returned to serve in this new version of an old ministry. Thanks to Pastor for atimely letter or two to Lutheran Braille Workers Inc. and helping purchase and set up the computer to use with the new printer we purchased through LBW. Photos link

Foreign Missions
Trips have been sponsored to Brazil to build churches.

Builders for Christ in Brazil. In 2012 OSLC helped build an All-Purpose Chapel in Brazil. The chapel is located at Martin Luther School and Home. This houses 32 children who are either without parents or are wards of the state. Carl Tiedt of Builders for Christ in Brazil indicates this was a very special project that will be genuinely blessed by the Lord. OSLC budget donations and KISS mission money has provided the money to buy the building materials for a new church each year for the past several years.

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Easter are three of the times when it is more likely that someone you invite to come to worship will accept. They will then join you in hearing the Law and Gospel proclaimed at OSLC. People come to faith when called by the Holy Spirit and calling comes from the proclamation of the Word of God. Is there anyone you can invite to join us for worship? May the spirit of God bless your invitation and bless all of our members and guests who join us for worship.
